Teche Action Clinic, in conjunction with LSU Health Sciences Center, offers FIT tests (fecal immunochemical tests) for early detection of colorectal cancer. Although colorectal cancer is the second most common cause of cancer deaths in the U.S., it can be prevented or mitigated with regular screenings. Doctors recommend that everyone age 50 and older undergo an annual screening. It’s the best way to help ensure that you or someone you love is given the best chance possible to fight colon cancer.
